Nineteen year old Katie Gallagher hails from Ballymahon, Longford. Writing songs since age eleven, Katie is driven by a desire to create music dealing with relatable themes such as youth, heartbreak, and escapism. Her style ranges from the soft and lyrical ‘Aphra’s Song’ to the rustic, upbeat ‘Never Go Home’. Currently studying Music in DCU, the human interaction of working with children and sharing her music inspires Katie to pursue a career in teaching while following her dream. Katie’s eclectic influences include The Rat Pack and Elvis Presley’s approach to Hollywood-era love, the modern story-telling of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran and the folky, rhythm-driven Keywest and Mumford and Sons. In her downtime, Katie loves spending time with her friends and living a typical student life.
