Kildare/Dublin band Hvmmingbyrd re-formed to an alt-pop duo in 2016 from its folky quintet beginnings of 2013, with original member Deborah Byrne joined by Suzette Das. Retaining their use of complex vocal arrangements but combining them with new electronic sounds using loops, synths and drum machine, they have drawn comparisons to artists such as Enya and Massive Attack. They have released two singles 'Out of My Head' and 'If Love Was Enough' and both were chosen by Nialler9 as Song of the Week on the Irish Times. They recently released their first music video for ‘If Love Was Enough’ directed by Crooked Gentlemen and featuring Irish NBC actor Eoin Macken and Olivia Romao. The track continues to be featured on Ian Dempsey's Breakfast Show on Today FM, 98FM, 2FM, TXFM, and many other Irish stations. They look forward to playing the Live at Heart festival in Sweden and Electric Picnic: Body & Soul Stage this summer, and launching their new EP ‘Know My Name’ produced by Hvmmingbyrd and Aisling Jarvis on September 29th in the Grand Social.
